Like many things in life, parenting isn’t the same for everyone. Many people have different opinions and beliefs regarding parenting.
The tricky part is that it’s difficult to fault anyone for their beliefs, given that they are formed by personal experiences, societal trends, and values.
These differing beliefs often result in conflict among people, especially family members. We found one Redditor who can relate to this all too well.
OP shared that she was visiting her son and daughter-in-law (DIL) to spend some quality family time. Normally, she would have had to get a hotel, but since the couple had just purchased a bigger home, it was a rare opportunity to live together with them.
Family time was wonderful as usual, except for one tiny problem: OP was frustrated that anytime she tried correcting her three-month-old grandson, her DIL would interject. In addition, her DIL refused to allow her to kiss the baby, which hurt her even more.
Just when OP thought that was the end of her woes, her son requested that she leave their home and move into a hotel. Apparently, he, too, was fed up with OP trying to parent their child.
